Dear teachers and students,
For the International Youth Competition in the project “HerStories - Telling Jewish Women’s Stories”, we invite students age 14 to 18 from Hungary, Spain, Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland and Greece to send us their creative projects in one of the three categories:
Categories
- Films
- Graphic stories
- Podcasts or audio features
on one of the following topics:
- (Famous) Jewish woman of my country / town
- Biographies of Jewish women from the Centropa archive and HerStories project
Very welcome are, for example, projects that highlight the contributions and achievements of Jewish women throughout history; Profile influential Jewish women throughout history of your country or town; highlight involvement of Jewish women in social justice movements; Explore how Jewish women have contributed to advocacy, civil rights, and humanitarian causes; Explore the roles of Jewish women in various fields such as science, literature, politics, and the arts.
Please note: The projects needs to be done by students, while teachers will have to provide guidance and monitoring.

How to submit your project
Please upload your project through the submission form on the HerStories website until March 31, 2024. Please note: If your project is in your local language, please provide an English translation of the project, e.g. in the form of subtitles (film) or a transcript (podcast, graphic novel).
The jury consists of partners from the six project countries.
Prizes
Up to 3 students (plus an accompanying adult) representing the winning project from each of the project countries will be invited to a weekend in Budapest, including an official award ceremony. The event will take place on June 1, 2024.
