On Sunday, 7th of April, the official opening of the new exhibition "HerStories. In the Footsteps of Jewish Women in Europe", which is part of the EU project HerStories, took place with great success. The exhibition brings the multifaceted Jewish history of 20th century Europe through the biographies of seven Jewish women from Germany, Poland, Greece, Spain, Hungary, Slovakia, and Czechia.
At the opening, the audience had the pleasure of attending the presentation of the project and the exhibition by Dr. Alexandra Patrikiou, one of the two curators of the exhibition.
Many primary and secondary school teachers who were also present got really interested in learning more about this special exhibition and were inspired to use it as an educational tool, especially from the perspective of oral history and microhistory.
The stories of the seven women, Rosa Rosenstein, Lisa Pinhas, Rosl Heilbrunner, Katarína Löfflerová, Ludmila Rutarová, Irena Wygodzka and Vera Szekeres-Varsa will be on display at the Jewish Museum of Greece, available to the general public until the end of the project in December 2024.
More about the women's stories can be found in the official website of the HerStories project https://www.her-stories.eu/en
The HerStories project is co-funded by the European Union within the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Program.
